The Information Diet: What is it?

The Information Diet is a non-fiction text, which discusses how in our modern society we obtain, use, and process content in our lives.  Clay Johnson discusses both the good and the bad in the trends over the last few decades of how content has changed and how the way we use it has changed.  In this book there are references of how the consumption of information and different content modes is similar to the consumption of food.  Often times we will not consider what the information we are watching, reading, and playing is doing, not only to enrich our educational experiences, but also so that we can select the correct content for the future.  This is Clay's center focus in his book.  He emphasizes the importance of selecting the appropriate content for any type of work, whether it be school, work, or personal use.  Along with this emphasis it is just as important to be able to search and locate content quickly, while still maintaining the integrity of the content that we find.  When we practice good content searching skills we will find that ultimately it is easier to find the content and information that we are looking for while ensuring that the content we find is what we need.  This is what The Information Diet is centered around as a book.
