Content Diet

Much like a water filter Clay suggests that it is most effective to filter our content that we view.  We want to keep all of the bad particles out of our water much like we want to keep all of the bad webpages out of our academic web searches.  It sounds simplistic, but the best think that we can do when performing a web search, writing a paper, or even updating Facebook is to filter results that e find.  It also would not hurt that when we are searching the web that much more the content isn't completely credible.  Obviously we must do our back work to ensure that when we search for any content on the web we must make sure that what is being both factual and original.  It is as if we are putting ourselves on a "content diet" where we are consuming content that is only healthy and good for us to use.
